Any ideas on creating a huge art piece for living room?
Hi, I have a very oddly shaped living room in my new house. It is really large, and the wall that the sofa is on is very long. Its kinda rectangular. I have no clue what to put on the wall, a regular framed picture or mirror isn't gonna work. So I was thinking I would make something, any ideas on a theme, what to use as the backing, etc? Thanks!!!!!!! It needs to be about 5-6 feet tall and 10 feet or more long.
i like all of the answers above, but you could also do a series, like 8x10s of black and white framed photos or smaller paintings or other types of art. it could be a little more interesting that a massive painting.
if you're short on photos or want a real "designer" type look, subscribe to a site like www.istockphoto.com and download some high dpi (at least 300dpi) images (about 5 dollars each) that you like and bring a CD to your local photo store for enlargement.
